Plant en Houtgoed is a collaborative environment where places, plants, animals and people come together, united by a love for nature and a commitment to a truly sustainable society. Our practice combines planning, research and the design of public spaces with hands-on design-build projects, including gardens, playscapes, scenographies, waterscapes, animal shelters and furniture, with special attention to the role of the caretaker.
Bridging design and ecology through a focus on care and curiosity, we take a grounded, research-based approach. Our projects and experiments on our home grounds inform our research-programmes, organized into five distinct labs, which together help us deepen our understanding of ecosystems and the challenges they face.
We find pleasure in sharing our insights through publications and actively contributing to public discourse that promotes positive change.

Our practice is structured across several organisations: Plant en Houtgoed Studio (landscape practice), Plant en Houtgoed Build (design and build), Natuurtalent (pedagogy), Maakatelier (woodconstructions) and Jeshile (a landscape practice in Albania)

Our base is at Hengstenberg Farm in Overijse, Belgium. Reach out via email or phone, or follow us on Instagram.
